The dataflow contains information on basic fuel prices, retail fuel prices, as well as brent crude prices and USD to ZAR exchange rates. Fuel price data are constructed by analysing several key factors that influence costs. These include international product prices, exchange rate fluctuations, and various local cost components. International market trends determine the base price of refined petroleum products, such as petrol, diesel, and illuminating paraffin. Currency exchange rates affect the cost of importing these products, contributing to price adjustments. The final pricing structure also incorporates transport costs, taxes, levies, and regulatory margins, ensuring that the total price reflects both global and domestic economic conditions.
